Our Approach

Evidence-Based Rehab Built Around Your Sport

Sports rehabilitation at Ironwood Spine and Joint is not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Every program begins with a thorough biomechanical and functional movement assessment to identify the specific tissue involved, the compensatory patterns driving it, and the sport-specific demands we need to restore.

We combine chiropractic joint mobilization with targeted soft-tissue therapy, corrective exercise progressions, and — when appropriate — dry needling or instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization (IASTM) to accelerate tissue healing and restore movement quality.

What sets our program apart:

  • Sport-specific functional testing at intake and discharge
  • Load-management guidance to keep you training safely during recovery
  • Collaboration with your coaches, trainers, and referring physicians
  • Clear return-to-play milestones so you know exactly where you stand
  • Injury-prevention programming once you are back at full capacity

The Process

What to Expect at Your Visits

01

Comprehensive Intake

We review your injury history, training load, and sport. Orthopedic testing and a movement screen pinpoint the structures involved and rule out anything requiring specialist referral.

02

Personalized Care Plan

You receive a clear, phased plan outlining treatment modalities, visit frequency, and the functional benchmarks that define each phase of your recovery.

03

Hands-On Treatment

Each session combines manual therapy with progressive therapeutic exercise. Modalities are adjusted visit by visit based on your tissue response and training schedule.

04

Return-to-Play Clearance

Before discharge, we run a final sport-specific functional screen. You leave with a maintenance program and the knowledge to manage load so the injury does not recur.
